New Squarespace Website: Beacon of Hope Psychological Services

As an avid user of Squarespace’s platform since 2014, I can attest to the fact that it has grown and changed a lot since then - but in a lot of very good ways! In the past year, I have been able to build several client websites using Squarespace, so I thought it was about time to showcase a few of them! I’ll talk about the advantages of building a website on Squarespace a little bit later, but before I get into the technical details, I’m thrilled to introduce:

Beacon of Hope Psychological Services

Back in the fall, with the changes in virtual schooling, Dr. Amber Kuszak realized she would have to take a leap in her career and look at working for herself in order to accommodate the best plan for her family. With extensive experience already in the field of psychology - and a whole lot of degrees and training to prove it! - she decided to launch her own practice, Beacon of Hope, located in Williamsburg, Virginia.

For her website, Dr. Kuszak knew she wanted to project a nautical theme, since Hampton Roads is surrounded by water. I made some slight modifications to the lighthouse picture above that I found on Unsplash.com, and it soon became the perfect header photo. For the rest of the website, I selected blues and grays that complemented the water theme and made the site inviting.

Another point of emphasis for this practice was the virtual/remote therapy option offered to clients both in the Hampton Roads area and all over the state of Virginia. I put copy in many different places emphasizing the multiple modes of availability, along with different calls-to-action throughout the site that allows potential clients to contact Dr. Kuszak or book a free 15-minute consultation.

One final important facet of the website is the ‘Insurance’ page. While it is fairly simple in style, it is one of the top questions healthcare providers are asked (do you accept my insurance?). If we can use the website to remove any barriers to booking the first appointment, then it is a success!

Along the way, I also got to take some new professional, lifestyle headshots for Dr. Kuszak, and since we were already working together, she chose an outfit to match the theme of her website, so it blended in well to the overall feel. Now she has a lot of options to use on her website, social media, and online profiles to maximize this aspect of her business marketing.

We were able to launch the website in a fairly quick time-frame, since the practice launched this year and Dr. Kuszak knew exactly what she wanted when it came to writing website copy, selecting images, and streamlining pages. I love how the website turned out - leave a comment with your favorite aspect below!
