What's Your Holiday Marketing Plan?

Your 2020 Holiday Marketing Plan

I know, I know…summer is gone and fall is flying by, and it feels way too early to talk about the holidays. But if you’re a business owner, planning ahead is the name of the game when it comes to marketing, and this year is no exception. If you start cobbling together your holiday plans in December, you’re already behind the curve - and most other businesses will already have the wheels in motion!

So, what are some things you can do to market your products and services this Thanksgiving and Christmas season? Here are a few holiday marketing ideas:

  • Offer a special, seasonal discount. This could be tied to something that specifically applies to this time of the year (eg. Christmas-themed products), or it could be a ‘just because’ special. An ideal way to implement the discount is to think long-term. What can you sell now that will get your customer to keep coming back when the new year rolls around?

  • Start running online ads. If you don’t typically utilize Facebook Ads Manager or Google Adwords, now might be the time to experiment! Lots of people spend a lot of money around the holidays, so while your ad spend may be a bit higher than at other points in the year, it can definitely pay off in the end.

  • Promote a ‘going away’ sale. Is there a product or service you don’t plan to offer in 2021? Now is the perfect time to run a limited-time offer before it’s gone. This creates a sense of urgency and will drive sales up for anyone who has looked before but decided to wait awhile before buying.

  • Say ‘thank you’ to current and former clients. Now might be the perfect time to send a ‘thank you’ gift to anyone who has bought from you before. It’s a potential sales boost with spending money on advertising, and it can hook in customers for life. Plus, it’s an easy way to make clients feel appreciated and keep coming back to your business over and over.

Are you planning on offering any sales, specials, or discounts to celebrate this time of the year and boost revenue before 2021 rolls around? If you aren’t sure how to get started with content, advertising, or more, I’d love to help map out your plans.
